australia

My short, intense and woderful 5-day trip to Australia is sadly just about to end... Am boarding the plane that will take me back home to HK in 10 min. And I feel tired, but very happy in heart and soul.

It's been a few busy days, but fun and a lot of catching up. Managed to see almost everyone I think. Even more people than expected. So it's been absolutely great! (Except the weather of course, but then again it's Melbourne we're talking about after all, so what was to be expected really? 10 degrees and rain...? Yep you are right!)

my easter

It's Easter and I haven't even eaten an egg...
I've been working.
Different Easter for sure.

Wake up, sit down on sofa, turn on computer, write artwork texts and sales texts all day, have a break now and then for a cup of tea or something to eat. New day, write some more, listen to music and to Kris playing his guitar. Write some more, arse is getting sore, have a break and say happy birthday to Juuse, drink a glass of champagne. Loose a game of Tumble but win a game of Yatzy. New day, in front of the computer again, writing.

Got one more day of this and then I'm off to Australia!
Hurray!

hair

When I was younger I thought hairy chests were horrible.
I disliked it so much that I never thought I would or even could ever touch one.
I clearly remember sitting on a night train from Melbourne to Sydney with my mum, and how she "checked out" this hairy man, and I thought it was totally gross.

Now a days I like hairy chests.
Good thing since my man has got one.
And I think he is sooo sexy.
Nothing better than to snuggle up against his chest.

However I do have one objection, and that is all the hair that is left behind. In the bed, on the floor etc. The hair is everywhere, but I put up a good fight and keep vacuuming... To be honest, it's almost like having a dog... (Ha, think of that Kris, you say that if we were to get a dog I wouldn't be "allowed" to have the cute little thing inside because of all the hair... Good thing you're allowed inside hey... ;-))

old habits

Just over 2 weeks have passed since my eye operation and already it feels like this is how it's always been. Did I ever have bad eyesight? And the habit of running around my apartment trying to find where the hell I put my glasses when I took them off last is nothing but old...

I love it!

happy easter

Oh how I wish I was a witch just for a night. I would fly all the way to Sweden, knock on your doors, wish you all a happy easter, eat lots of candy and of course mammas meatballs.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

official

An email was sent to all my colleagues today announcing that I was moving on to new challenges. My resignation is in other words official.

This email was followed by hugs, emails, a couple of handwritten little notes and small chats from my sweet Chinese colleagues, wishing me good luck and telling me that I would be missed.

My Danish colleagues payed just as much attention to the news as they usually pay attention towards me, i.e. total ignoration. (Except from one, who actually said congratulations!). Almost a bit disappointing actually..., I thought that the news at least would bring big smiles to their faces. I mean, I am finally doing what they have been wanting me to do since I started... Ah well, you can't get it all in life I guess...

However, I'm smiling.

zingaro

Last night I took Kris and Tiina with me to see Zingaro.

Zingaro, which means 'gypsy' in Spanish and Italian, is a show with 36 powerful horses galloping at dizzying pace together with very skilled acrobatic riders.
Accompanying these speed loving preformers are two bands of lively Gypsy musicians and toghether these three elements tell a tale set in a Gypsy encampment. Very enjoyable!

Today I desperately want to go horse riding.

resignation

Walked into the room of my boss today and told him that I'm leaving.
The butterflies are gone, but not my big smile!
I am so happy.
New challenges ahead, and I can't wait.

smile

Butterflies in my stomach and a big smile on my face.
I'll tell you why later...

Saturday 8 March 2008

With my parents in town different things have been on the program.

A nice little hike on Dragons Back.

A trip to the beach.

A sip of champagne or two...

A visit to the races.

A day trip to Lamma Island.

And then just chilling on the sofa.

At 17 hours yesterday I went under the laser and now: Hallelujah I can see!

Saturday 1 March 2008

annual dinner

Event: Annual Dinner
When: Last night
Theme: Carnival
Dressed up as: Funky Clown
Food: Chinese(Good? No, not really. Next question.)
Responsibilities: MC (As the only gwailo (white guy) in the social committee I didn't really have a choice, I was simply appointed the task. Not that I minded, but had to sing the Top-Toy song in that mic as well, and that I minded...(remember that special one from our Toy fair in Denmark in September...?)).

An annual dinner is the biggest social event in companies here in Hong Kong and also quite traditional. So just like last year it was an evening consisting of: a long dinner, games, a lucky draw, excited and happy Chinese colleagues and millions of photos being taken.

And for me who have had a week full of costume sourcing for Halloween, X-mas and Carnival the theme seemed extra appropriate. (Have had a very busy week actually, working with costume selections/developments both day and night... and I really mean that literally too, since I've had a few good ideas come to me in the dreams at night... And I feel pretty pleased with the results so far. So now all I can do is hope that the costumes will be well received in the stores by our customers too).

And for all my faithful Finnish readers out there (It was great meeting you at the wedding by the way! Have been meaning to tell you that for a long time now...), I give you the Finnish princess (and her clown friend):
Event over: 23.00 hours
Glad when it was over: Yes
Now: Weekend
