cold

The winter monsoon continued to bring cold and rainy weather to southern China today. Locally, it was cold. The minimum temperature recorded this morning at the Observatory were 6 to 7 degrees only, the lowest so far this winter. The winter monsoon is expected to persist over southern China in the next few days.

Where did my sun and warm weather go?!

anniversary

On Friday it's a special day.
It's my one year blog anniversary!

Hip hip hurray.

I reckon the occasion requires some special attention.
And was thinking that I should have a poll.
And it's up to you guys to vote.

It would be great to know what you like and what you enjoy.
And this is what I would like to know:

1. Best photo of the year?
2. Most interesting post of the year?
3. Funniest post of the year?

Plus I'd like to know if there is anything you are missing or anything you want more of.

Well while you think of all the above, I will finish my cookie (it's actually a delicatoboll that I bought at IKEA, and I'm enjoying it immensly!).

head ache

Yesterday my head decided to hurt, a lot. So much that I, in the afternoon, decided to go home and work from home instead, where it’s much quieter.

With a warm blanket over my shoulders and with my heater fan next to me I worked away. And got heaps done. When dinner time came, Kris said, why don’t you continue working and I will cook for us. Sounded like a perfect plan to me, and the naked chef, although this time not naked at all as a matter of fact, got busy in the kitchen. (Very enjoyable sound I must admit, someone cooking for you…) And I felt like a princess (with head ache) underneath my blanket in front of the computer.

At 8 I closed down the computer and we had a delicious dinner. Yum. And the best thing – I didn’t even have to do the dishes!

film tajm

When the days feel grey and cold, what is better than a good movie?
So today Kris and I went for one.

"The Darjeeling Express" - liked it a lot.

Also saw another one the other day.

"August Rush" - liked it even more.

top events

An other busy week at work has just passed.
The office has been "my home" for almost 12 hours every single day.
Anyway, am now sitting in bed and the office is history for yet an other 2 days.

Had three top events during the week though.

Number 1: My first Mandarin class. Although I had imagined it would be difficult, I hadn't expected I would sound like a strange animal, an animal mixed of 1/3 sheep, 1/3 cow and 1/3 bee, for the 2,5 hours I sat there trying to pronounce letters and words.

Number 2: A colleague that has been ignoring my very existence for at least the last 6 months, actually initiated a two sentence conversation yesterday... Very unexpected.

Number 3: As I was leaving the office earlier this evening (at 20.54), my two bosses said I had done a good job. The first positive feed back, more or less, in 12 months. Wow.

the surprise

Half an hour lap dancing training and then half an hour pole dancing training was the surprise Tiina got last Sunday.

Luckily the surprise was a success and I think we both felt a bit sexier when we walked out of that studio than we did when we walked in... But I guess that's what you get when you have learnt how to swing down a pole like a fireman or how to preform like Demi More in the movie Striptease...

nothing

Lately it feels like I have nothing to report. No adventures. Just work.
Busy, busy times.

But it may all change tomorrow as I'm throwing Tiina the smallest little hens-party... Not even a party, but a Tiina day, with a cool surprise...

one year

One year with toys. And who would ever have thought that toys were such a busy industry... It feels like I eat, breathe and live toys. Never a quiet moment. Never time for the gym or anything... Lucky I've just been to paradise, otherwise I would be going crazy.

sunny holidays

I love sunny holidays. And this Thailand holiday was no exception. Hurray, happy days!

As Tiina and I pride our selves in being efficient professional travellers, that's exactly how we did Bangkok. In one day I think we managed to make sure we saw quite a wide range of what Bangkok has to offer. Beautiful temples, cheap markets, beauty/massage places and seedy ping pong.

And after a little "rocky" start on our beach holiday in Koh Chan, we moved on south east to the island Koh Kood and found paradise.
(That is rocky as in not liking the place as much as we had hoped and as in a very rocky snorkeling trip (some people didn't snorkel at all, some were just trying to concentrate on the horizon, but despite all their efforts all they did was loose their breakfast). And that is paradise as in a beautiful tranquil island, long golden sand beaches, turquoise water and lazy days in the sun).

I love paradise.

PS. For you who ever doubted my ability to drive a scooter, let me just re ensure you that I have improved my driving skills and now a days drive like a pro (and I must admit that I do prefer to stay on the roads with the bike instead of jumping off the board walk and taking the bike down with me into the shallow rocky water... (and that is rocky as in many hard stones that break your ribs when you fall on them)).

happy new year
