midsummer weekend

We were supposed to celebrate Swedish midsummer on a boat.
But the weather god decided against that plan. He sent the rain to HK and he did it well. It poured.
But even buckets of rain can't keep a group of Swedes from their herring and snaps on Midsummer, so we took the party inside instead.

Later that night Ant threw a really good party at the W hotel as well.
So midsummer sure was celebrated properly!

in a week

In a weeks time I will have woken up and spent my first morning in India.
I will have had my first breakfast cooked by the chef (author of 16 cookbooks)that will be hosting us during our stay in Delhi. I will hopefully also have walked some busy streets of the vibrant city of Delhi and hopefully also encountered my fist holy cow.
Feeling very excited!
Our trip will take us from New Delhi to Agra, Mumbai and Goa. And I'm expecting a colourful time with a lot of new exciting impressions.

different earnings

I am doing ok over here in HK with regards to work, money and life in general, and I am very appreciative about that fact.

HK is indeed a land of opportunity for those that succeed. There are a lot of people that earn "shit loads" of money in this city. But there is also an even bigger portion of the population that earn next to nothing.

Considering that there is one millionaire for every seven adults in Hong Kong Island it is quite shocking to realise that in Hong Kong one in six workers - nearly half a million people - earn less than HK$33 an hour and some 130200 actually get much less.

Since I come from a land of equality and "lagom", I can't help to think that life is not always fair.

granted

It's Friday again in a city that I take more and more for granted.
But that's what you so with homes isn't it...?
Homes that are real homes.
Homes that seems like real homes.
Homes that are temporary homes.
Anyway, this city is what I call home now.
A home that to many is very foreign.
A home that is a city with many faces.
Faces that I don't show on here any longer, because I take them for g r a n t e d.
So guys, expect a few photos of HK to appear on here now and then.
Photos reflecting this vibrant city.
So I'm starting with a photo of a view that I love.
The skyline of Hong Kong island.

One of my favorite things here in HK is just crossing the harbour at night. Looking at this view while feeling the sea breeze in the face is truly special and makes my soul feel calm and good.
Have a great weekend all!

jungle weekend

Brit Cham had gone all the way and spared no expenses on the ball we went to on Friday. Lots of entertainment, great costumes, lots of dancing and good food. Had a really good time.
Saturday, a couple of hours by the pool with a book and finished off my very well needed relaxing weekend with cooking a 3 course dinner.

Why do always weekends go so quick.
The good news are that we've got a public holiday on Wednesday, so only 2 days of work until an other day off. Yay!

rumble

After a week of way too many hours at work I am going to rumble tonight.
Jungle rumble.
Dressed up with a tail and everything...
Photos to come.
Have a great weekend everyone!

picture painitng

Let me paint you a funny and unexpected picture.
It was raining as I stepped out from my office last night at 9pm.
I had spent a solid 12 hours in front of the computer.
I was tired.
I was hungry.
I.e I was not in one of my best moods ever...

I walk down the sidewalk in the rain, no umbrella. Mission - find something to eat.
I meet people on the way, they all look about as happy as I am feeling.
One of these people, a woman in my age, looks at me under her umbrella and says as she walks past me:
Shit, you've got amazing tits in that dress!

And that was it. Suddenly my face broke into a smile and then I started laughing, completely taken back and totally surprised.

Very unexpected and funny.

cool surprise

I am ashamed of what I am about to say.
Especially since summer has just started.
But I have really enjoyed the "nippy" weather we've had the last few days.
A cool surprise has been blowing in the wind. And Hong Kong Observatory said it recorded a minimum temperature of 20.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which is the lower on record for the month of June since 1964.
However, don't worry - the weather will get warmer over the next few days and I promise I will enjoy that as well.

chicago

Left HK last night for Chicago.
Well at least that's how it felt for about 2,5 hours...
Saw the great musical Chicago with a great cast yesterday and as we were having a drink afterwards all I could do was smile.
That's what good music, great dancing and sexy half naked bodies up on a stage does to me. :)
