swedish crayfish

Some people travel all the way from Sweden to Hong Kong only to eat Swedish crayfish and drink Swedish vodka... Well that might not be the entire truth nor the only only reason for Sofia's visit, but never the less, we did enjoy a Swedish Crayfish Party the other day!

Over 100 Swedes and one Finnish person sucked red claws and sang snaps songs last Saturday. We had lots of fun and somehow those songs we sang made my head spin a bit... Strange. The party was held on 8 boats anchored together and decorated in accordance with traditional Swedish Crayfish Party Style, somewhere outside Hong Kong Island. Very pretty.

Once the boats reached land again, we took the party to two different places in the city instead. Had some more drinks and danced until we felt really tired and decided it was time to make our way home again.

I might have started off with a lie, but the truth is that this Swedish girl has never had as many crayfish as she had on that boat, so some people do travel all over the world only to eat Swedish crayfish in Hong Kong.

I have had it 2 times... 1 in Finland and 1 in Sweden... Strangely I do not remember whether I liked it.. Perhaps explained by the 4 cl vodkas that followed my dish of Kraftor.. ??
