introducing teddy

Teddy is 2 months old.
Teddy was found on the street and rescued by inspectors.

Ulrica and Ant was out for a walk in Sai Kung.
During this walk they went past a dog rescue place.
In the dog rescue place was Teddy.

Teddy looked at Ulrica and Ant with beautiful puppy eyes that said - take me home, please.

Ulrica and Ant took Teddy home.

Teddy is full of kisses, play, love and mischief.
He is always hungry and he likes to be cuddled.
And he likes his friend Kipper - they usually go to sleep together.

christmas 2010

Merry Christmas all!
Sorry for my silence, but it's been Chrsitmas and I've been eating :)
It came and went too quick as per usual, but it was full of good times though and in spite of staying in HK I managed to get a pretty good Christmas feeling going.
First there was a Christmas party.

Then there was Christmas eve full of good yummy Swedish food, glogg and snaps - and Santa made his way there as well and we got gifts (told ya I've been a good girl! :))

Then it was Christmas lunch on Christmas day with Swedish friends and the Swedish Christmas special with Donald Duck and friends.

Then another party.

And then a walk along the beach in Sai Kung - which led to a new stage in our life.
But more about that in my next post...

cold

It's all of a sudden quite cold in HK. This morning was 5.8 degrees, the lowest so far this winter. It is also the lowest recorded in December since 1999.

5.8 degrees you say, that is nothing - but it is when there is no heating inside - I promise you!

Weather forecast for today - Fine and very dry. It will be cold. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong on high ground at first.

Outlook : Remaining cold tomorrow morning. Temperatures rising gradually early next week. So hopefully I'll be able to take my jacket off inside during the weekend.

hong kong lucia

Sweden's Lucia - slang dig i vaggen, because here comes Hong Kong's Lucia.
She might be quite old for a Lucia, but she did her job and held her head high and sang as beautifully as she could whilst the candle wax turned her hair white.

rugby boys

At 7 o'clock on Saturday morning my doorbell rang.
Outside was two drunk rugby boys that needed a bed for the night (well day to be more accurate, but in their jet-lagged and drunk bodies it was night).
They told me that they loved me and then both went to sleep fully clothed and the shoes were left on as well.

Last night they brought keys with them so no doorbell rang during the night/early morning, however shoes were still left on... That is on the one that made it inside... When Ant left for work this morning he found rugby player no 2 asleep in the street in the middle of the pavement with a woman stepping over him and 4 other little Chinese people stood staring at him. Rugby player no 2 was woken up and helped inside. And when I left for work an hour later rugby player no 1 had managed to take one shoe off and rugby player no 2 was in a bed.

Even my rugby player thinks that rugby boys are silly boys...

filling the gap

Got the keys last night and tonight's mission is to go up there so that I can measure the gap where the washing machine is meant to be.
The moving in process have started!

no-more mo's

Saturday was the D-day.
The D-day for the moustaches to come off.
Thank Christ!
And in true HK spirit they came off with a party.

As you can see some had already shaved there's off, but they were kind enough to show us other(much more attractive) parts of their body instead. The one to the right is obviously by far the best! No wonder I once heard one of my girlfriends say: Oh I would take my ring off for him... ;)

movember

For the last month I've been calling my boyfriend the Turk. Have asked him for a kebab now and then but he still hasn't delivered...
Thank god the Movember month is over and that stupid tach can be shaved off!
I really do hope they have raised awareness for cancer now, if nothing else they have managed to raise awareness of how ugly mustaches really are!

Anyway, who do you think should win?
I can tell you a secret already - I did n o t vote for Ant.

new home

We've paid a deposit today on a new house.
A new house with spare room and rooftop!

Who wants to book in a stay at Andersson's B&B? :)

boo bloody hoo

The landlord says: You need to move!
I say: Boo bloody hoo!

I don't want to, not now, I like it here, we just got everything sorted it feels like...

Ah well, what to do, other than start looking for a new place.
Boo bloody hoo again.

golfers in hk

HK provided us with sunshine on last Sunday.
HK also provided us with some really good golf on last Sunday.

And I got to see one of my friends win a tournament, since my two friends that were playing did pretty good, or what do you think?!

Pos Player Name Nat Par
1 POULTER, Ian ENG -22
T2 DYSON, Simon ENG -21

So Ant and I ended up having a really good day out on the golf course, and got to congratulate Ian and Simon as well.

pink ball 2010

I've got a new motto - All excuses are good excuses for having a good party.
On Saturday the excuse was raising money and awareness for Brest cancer.

So we were 11 girls that got dolled up and went to the Pink Ball 2010, and it was a very successful night!

I definitely believe that our table was the best table and think we were probably ruling the dance floor as well!

My best memories (read what I remember… got a little bit drunk!)

- Funny chats around my table while starting the night with pink drinks.

- Sex talk in taxi to the ball (now when the level has hit sex talk that early on of the night is when you know that this night is going to be fun!)

- Standing on chairs and making poses.
- Relentlessly trying to stuff forks and knives into Lisa’s bag.
- Tearing up some good old dance moves in the dance floor.
- Missing out on seeing my boyfriend do a dance/strip in front of 400 people...
- The lift – the professional entertainment dancers did the Dirty Dancing song including the lift! Best finale ever to a ball!
- Dancing some more and getting stood on by Katie… (got the bluest foot ever!)
- Jaeger bombs in Solas.
- Almost getting into a dance fight in Solas.
- Getting thrown out of Solas (for being barefoot – come on – my poor blue foot was hurting).
- Successfully entering Solas again (barefoot!! Ha!)
- Getting picked up from a completely sober boyfriend, who had been asleep for a couple of hours already, half way home after ringing and complaining about walking barefoot home… he gave me a piggy back the rest of the way. Now that is love... :)
- Inhaling all crisps that were over from the pink pre drinks – oh my god they were good!.
- Head hitting pillow. Over and out.

Oh, you want photos – well here you go!

earthquake in hk

A minor earthquake was recorded by the Hong Kong
Observatory at 2:42 p.m. today (Friday, 19 November 2010).

The epicentre was initially determined to be in the
vicinity of Deep Bay (22.5N, 113.9E) about 35 kilometres
northwest of the Hong Kong Observatory. The magnitude was
estimated to be 2.8 on the Richter Scale.

How did it feel?
Just a few quick shakes whilst sitting by the computer in the office.
But shaky enough to make me wonder - earthquake - no... can't have been and then I just got on with the day...

sweet but short

Just got sent a few pictures from my sweet but very short trip to Sweden.
Can you see me smiling? Spending time with your loved ones does that to you :)

surprise!!

The reason it's been a bit quiet here the last week or so is that I've been trying to be very secretive... And if you don't talk, it's easier not to slip your tongue...
Reason for being secretive?
I have a mum that turns 65 today and to celebrate I decided to go home to surprise her last weekend!
So Saturday morning mum and dad ring's the door bell to my Sthlm apartment, where my sister now lives, but it wasn't my sister that opened the door, it was me! Surprise!!

Had a fun and lovely weekend with the family. Tried to make up for lost time but also for future time (like me not coming home for X-mas this year etc etc). And now that I'm back in my hotel room in London I feel lonely but happy.

november already and xmas around the corner

November already. Weird. Where did this year go?
Feels like I'm still waiting for summer to come.
The truth is that I only made it to the beach once this year(even though I live 20 min away from the closest one) and that was in October... (a month that really is regarded as Autumn)... And since the beach usually is where I hang during Summer it is no wonder I feel confused and still wait for summer to arrive...

If last year was all about boxing (which paid off in a win) this year has been all about work.

So that is were this year did go for me - mostly to work.
Unfortunate in some ways, but good in others.
My hard work has paid off. My office has doubled in size this year and is at the same time the most profitable one in the region (and since the APAC region is the most profitable one in the Direct Link world, we're simply pretty good! :)).

Anyway, realised today that Christmas really just is around the corner.
And have just decided, over the phone with Ant (who is in Singapore at the moment), that we're getting a X-mas tree! This might not be a big thing for many, but to me - who never in her grown up life has had her own X-mas tree - it is a big thing and I am so happy! I say - bring on this Christmas - even though again unfortunately it will not be white, nor spent with family, but it will be spent with a tree and with my sambo (that means partner-who-you-live-together-with in Swedish).

hairless floors

I have succumbed to the higher powers (well at least bigger and stronger...) and agreed to have a cleaner come in once a week for 3 hours to polish the house and to do the ironing.

Not sure how I feel about it. It is against all my principles, but must admit that tonight when I come home to floor that is hairless I will not cry...

But still, my conscience is saying shouldn't I be able to take care of my own dirt, how hard can it be...? And on the other hand Ant is saying - common we both work ridiculous hours and there is so many more fun things to do than to clean on your spare time... And I agree with both. Which is the reason I succumbed... that and hairless floors...

What do you think?

surprise weekend

I was whisked off to Macau for my belated birthday gift.
And what a birthday gift it was...
A hotel suite and a heavenly good chocolate cake, a swim in the pool and a nice dinner.

And then... "The House of Dancing Water". A show that cost US$250 million to set up. It took 5 years of planning and 2 years of rehearsal to present this grand dreamlike performance - absolutely amazing. With 77 performers, which includes dancers, divers, martial artists, motorcyclists and acrobats the show narrates a modern East-meets-West fable. It's a legendary story of a princess and a brave stranger fighting against the Serpent Queen. And all this is done in a 50-meter circular pool containing 14 million liters of water at its fullest. I say ‘at its fullest’ because the stage is constantly in motion; at times it’s solid ground, other times a shallow pool, and then sometimes it’s deep enough so that a performer can – and does – dive into it from a height of 50 meters. I'll tell you again, the show is brilliant! It really is a bit like watching semi-naked Greek gods, their physiques so perfect and their execution of dangerous acrobatic stunts so precise.

I'm a very happy girl! Some surprises are definitely worth waiting for... :)

a wait

Sometimes a minute can feel like a whole hour.
Sometimes an hour can feel like a whole day.

Add that together and you'll know how it feels to be a very impatient and curious girl who is waiting for her birthday present for a whole month!
Tomorrow she will finally find out what it is.
Fingers crossed she will enjoy it immensely.
After waiting patiently for a month I deserve to enjoy it immensely!

An update after the weekend will follow!

footballers wife

I've somehow become a footballers wife...
Well not really, since Ant plays rugby.
But I am there, beside the pitch, cheering on my man...
My only comment: Rather pathetic, but bless my soul :)

the girls part 2

You can look at the girls and my chilled time at the beach in two ways.
Amazing days and/or the calm before the storm...
The days that followed the first weekend in the sun included a launch party for a new restaurant, a pre-party the "Swedish" way at home before going clubbing, and then a Sunday Champagne Brunch that turned into a 12 hours party. We showed HK our old dance moves, our bras as well as our biggest smiles and we had fun.
