amazing

"Dragon like, this mighty range, pierced by the Yangtze as by a giants sword,... crowned by three peaks whose turrents know eternal winter only." Dr. Joseph Rock, 1923 describing the Tiger Leaping Gorge.

And the gorge is majestic and simply amazingly beautiful. So lush, and such fresh air and I have enjoyed every second of all the sweating and huffing and puffing the hikes we've done required. The evenings were spent right there in the middle of the gorge as well, watching the ever so beautiful mountain in front of us change in colour as the night came over us. Such total relaxation just sitting there, listening to the sounds of the range and the river. Could have stayed forever.

But all things come to an end. And our ending to the hiking was very sweet, a 5 star hotel with a breathtaking view from the bed. Could have stayed there forever as well.

tiger leaping gorge

After a quite boring weekend working away on a major report, I'm getting really excited about the fact that I'm off to China later today. Tiger Leaping Gorge here we come! 3 days hiking and 2 days chillin. And lots of sunshine I hope.

my heart

I'm sitting here in HK in my comfy sofa with a very sore body after too intense training, a self inflicted problem...
In Sweden people have been suffering from hang overs because they had too much to drink during their Midsummer celebrations, again a self inflected problem...
In Iran innocent people are getting killed because they want democracy...

Life is a bit unfair, don't you think?!
My heart goes out to the brave people on the streets of Iran.

cart-wheeling

My sweet colleague Ivy made me want to do a cart-wheel yesterday. During lunch she told me that she thought I was a good boss. Made me smile all day! :)

sleep deprivation

Moving in to a new place is a little bit like breaking in that pair of shoes that you fell in love with but necessarily isn't the most comfortable ones you ever bought...

New noises is probably my biggest "break in" problem with my new home. New noises that keeps me awake at night. And makes me a tired person at day. My beauty sleep is getting disturbed, and when you are almost 28 you need your sleep, otherwise those fine lines you are starting to get in your face just gets bigger and nastier... And we don't want that!

Think I'll go back to sleeping with my ear-plugs tonight. On the other hand, I've got boxing tonight, so if I get hit really hard in the head I might not need any help falling asleep, I might just collapse in bed.

getting there

Moving went well, and I love my new place. I've got so much space!

The last days have just been relentless with unpacking and screwing wardrobes together etc etc. But I'm slowly getting there... It always takes some time for all the things to find their new place in the world, but now I can say that I'm almost there. A few more things that need to get in place, a dining table to be bought and some more pictures on the wall. But once all that is done, so am I.

I am packing up the last bits and pieces.
It's time to move...

small is big

The small guy to the right is Alain Ngalani the head trainer at my boxing gym. If I tell you that he is 110 kilos and only muscles, well then you understand that he is really not that small... Anyway, he is fighting the "giant" Bob Sapp next to him tomorrow, and I feel that I have to go there and see how he does. If I were him I would run away, since Bob is just massive and looks scary..., but then again I'm not a heavy weight champion like Alain is so what do I know about these things...
