postcard from singapore

I'm back in Singapore again and all is good.
I am good too apparently. At least according to the management consultant I had a meeting with earlier. Got great potential and profile... Woohoo! Made me smile anyway, and made me think (again): Top-Toy - go fuck yourselves for making me feel so worthless when I worked for you. I'm good, did you hear that! Am so glad I'm out of there.

Anyway, thought I should send you all a postcard, with stamp and all. Do it way to seldom. And I'm in the mail business... Shame on me! Come to think of it, I'm not that good after all then... Damn it.

Take care

boracay - philippines

The Philippines constitutes an archipelago of 7,107 islands, and Boracay is one of those islands. I had no other choice but to instantly add Boracay to my list of paradises on earth... The beaches, the weather and the turquoise ocean - absolutely stunning.

The local climate is hot, humid, and tropical and even though it's the rainy season there at the moment, we were very lucky. It did rain, but only at night, so every morning when we opened our eyes we looked out on blue sky's and crystal clear water. Now that does automatically put a big smile on my face, we all know that... And Kris and I truly enjoyed everything about the island to the fullest and had a immensely beautiful time.

The Philippines is a newly industrialized country, but in our eyes the Philippines is still a quite poor country. Dirt roads, small shacks that people live and run business in, pigs, roosters and skanky dogs running around the streets, and kids with big beautiful brown eyes without any pants on. There are lots of smiling faces and many happy hellos along the way though.

On the island, the two main modes of transport are via motor-tricycles along the main road or by walking along the beaches. We did both, but we also tried a third way of transport, horse riding. My first horse didn't want to walk, but the second one they put me on gladly galloped. Lovely. And we went sailing too, had a totally amazing day at sea.

Our hotel was absolutely lovely. It is tucked away on its very own private beach, offering seclusion and privacy. This secluded beach resort sits atop a steep cliff, surrounded by the cove it's nestled in. Some of the bungalows even appear to be clinging to the sides of the cliff. More or less the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and romantic beach vacation. Best thing of all - the place was not only heaven for us, it was also puppy heaven as they had 9 super cute 1,5 months old golden retrievers running around the place. I fell in love with them all without hesitation.

Lazy days in the sunshine on a beach with a good book in my hand. To me, that is paradise. And let me tell you, it was very hard to leave...

paradise

Falling asleep in a bed on a tropical island is great.
Breathing in the fresh sea breeze, that is blowing through your big bedroom window, as you do so is even greater.

Waking up to the sound of waves is truly a beautiful thing.
Waking up to a stunning view is truly just as beautiful.

Swimming in turquoise luke warm water is fantastic.
Sailing around a tropical island and snorkeling in this beautiful ocean is equally fantastic.

Feeling the suns hot rays upon my body is always an extremely satisfying feeling.
Oh how I love paradise.

anniversary

Tonight it's exactly one year since Kris and I first kissed, inside the mens room of the night club DROP... Hmm, very romantic indeed...(and don't ask me how we ended up there... Well actually it problably is better if I tell you, than if I let your imagination run wild... So here it goes: I desperately needed to pee, there was quite a line to the ladies (as there always is...) and Kris "saved" me by letting me know that there were no men in the mens room. And then he asked me if he could kiss me and I said no! But after a while I guess I gave in...) Anyway, that was how it started. And now it's our first anniversary.

Love is good.
Long live love.

hi and bye

It's been a week of sunshine(hurray!), big dinners and work.

My boss was in town all week, which meant good and big dinners every night (starters, mains and dessert - I we know that I can't say no to any of that yummy stuff...). However, when Friday night came and the boss was on a flight home to Singapore again, I went to the gym, and then I went to a restaurant called Eat Right - a lot healthier than my previous nights...

And when Sunday comes and your plan is to go to the pool and just chill in the beautiful sunshine, well then the rain is back! Big time. Hi and bye sunshine... So plan just now is to start a new book, go to the gym and then maybe later, a movie.

By the way - Tiina, I MISS YOU!
