skinny

Yep that's me.
No arms like Madonna, oh no, I'm skinny.
Not that I want to be.
I desperately want arms like Madonna.

You've lost weight, haven't you?
I've heard that line 3 times the last days.
Words that I've never ever striven to hear.

And I guess I have lost weight.
Not intentionally.
But because I haven't been going to the gym.
No gym - no muscles...

No gym - why?
Way too much work.

Prior to all those late nights at work I used to regard and look at my self as slim/sporty/fit.
And after - skinny.

Sunday, 24 February 2008

It's Sunday, in many ways my favorite day. It's just something about Sundays that makes them special... A sleep in, a big breakfast, soon I'll be going to the gym and afterwards I'll just relax a bit more (maybe watch a movie) before it's time to go to bed again.
But Sunday also means end of weekend, which always makes me a bit blue...

The week was busy as usual. Didn't get anything done at work, even though I did heaps...
My wall got fixed and finalized, but not without headache.
The Friday was spent with a supplier in China. Good day and good meeting.

Special events during the week was:
* My parents departure from Sweden to China (Beijing to be more specific). They are now sight seeing all they can before they continue their travels further south, to HK! Will be great to have them over here again.
* Kris found out that the new restaurant probably won't be happening... Very disappointing. But remember that the rat promises new beginnings, so maybe something else is meant to happen...

yawning

Last week came and went very quickly.
All of a sudden it was weekend and then it was Monday again.

The water leak became a bit of a drama, management trying to blame a leak from a pipe in the roof on me, however my name got cleared after two big holes had been made in the wall and now I'm just waiting for the wall to get fixed.

The weekend consisted of 2 kinds of parties.
One kids one and one grown up one. And it was the grown up one that made me the most tired (maybe because we stayed up until 8 the next morning...). So Sunday I didn't do anything. Monday I was yawning.

Am yawning now too, should be sleeping, but sleep doesn't seem to want to come. Hopefully tomorrow I will sleep like a princess.

water leak

Help! I've got a serious water leak in my house.
The water has been switched off now, but before that was achieved my wall was a dripping waterfall and the spotlight in the celing turned into a shower with water pouring down the edges of the lamp.

I've been told that the wall now needs to be knocked down and I can expect that it takes around 1-2 weeks until I've got a new wall in place... Hurray...

Oh how I love holidays.
Have had such great days the last days.
Have done nothing but enjoyed myself.

Have been to the gym every day (except one..), have even managed to get Kris to join me there twice!

Went around the island on a Vespa one of the days.

Have pampered ourselfs with facials, massage and colon hydro therapy (if you can call the latter pampering...)

And we have got an ongoing yatzy tournament that I have been in lead of since we started, in spite of Kris' many efforts... Ha!

fireworks

There is definitely no holding back when Hong Kong does fireworks.
Wow! The fireworks for the new Rat year was big and it was beautiful, it was cold and it was pretty romantic too!

We had a very nice 5 course dinner with the fireworks and when everything was over we walked home through the surprisingly quiet streets of Hong Kong with smiles on our faces. (Surprisingly since about 400,000 spectators crowded on both sides of the harbor to watch the 23-minute extravaganza that started at 8:00 p.m. in celebration of the new Year).

relalalalaxa

It truley is amazing how a year comes and goes so quickly...
The pig became a rat before I knew it.

And the new year is here, a year of romance and new beginnings.

Last Chinese New Year I walked around a tree full of pink flowers. I wanted to help myself get some romance. And the walk must have helped, during the year of the pig I got romance, as I met Kris. And if the rat wants to give us more romance, I am not going to say no thanks.

Last Chinese New Year my mum and dad was here. This year they will be here soon (only 20 something days away now).

Last year I had a new beginning, but if the rat wants to bring me a new one I guess I have never been one to say no to new adventures.

However, to start off with I am just going to enjoy my days off. Do nothing, read my book, go to the gym and just relax, (relalalaxa).

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Kung Hei Fat Choi!

We are leaving the Year of the Pig behind us today and are entering the Year of the Rat. So a Happy New Year of the Rat to you all!

A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, or make a fresh start. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find.

In spite of the bad reputation the rats have in the western world, here in the east the Rat is respected and considered a courageous, enterprising person. People born in the Year of Rat (1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) are clever and bright, sociable and family-minded. They have broad interests and strong ability in adapting to the environment and are able to react adequately to any changes.

The rodent is also seen as a "flower of romance" which means the year will stimulate romance.

wedding bells

Love is a wonderful thing.

A few days ago I got to experience and share two, to me, very dear persons love. Tiina and Juuse got married last Saturday and they looked absolutely beautiful as they walked down that aisle. And even though the church wasn't completely full with people, it felt completely filled with love.

The ceremony was followed by champagne and a beautiful 6 course dinner. Speaches, laughs and of course a yummy wedding cake.

Oh, and it was revealed that Tiina used to be a big fan of New Kids on the Block.
Oh oh ooh oh oh, oh oh ooh oh, oh oh ooh oh oh, the right stuff...
